This week, we are cheating on wine and featuring one of our favorite cocktails made from barrell bourbon for cocktail hour. This cocktail was featured on Fox 5 DC. Check out the segment and see the recipe below.

I am feeling a little blue and needed something to lift my spirits, so last night, I treated myself to cocktail hour with a “Barrell of Laughs” cocktail. I usually reserve this punch for large parties, but, oh well, I had a party for one!

I love the Barrell Bourbon Batch 21 as well as in this cocktail. It has notes of cider, apricots, macadamia orange blossom, honey and light cardamom-cinnamon spice. Perfect for mixing with ginger, pear and cranberry in the cocktail. Check out the recipe below and enjoy your cocktail hour.

A Barrell of Laughs Holiday Punch

3 cups Barrell Bourbon Batch 21
3 cups cranberry juice
5 cups apple-pear ginger Italian soda (Whole Foods)
1 small apple, sliced
1 small orange, sliced
pack of rosemary for garnish
Build in pitcher adding all ingredients except for the rosemary.  To get the most flavor from the fruit, store in the refrigerator for two hours. Add ice to pitcher before serving.  Add one rosemary sprig per glass.
