This week’s Wine of the Week; Mount Peak 2015 Gravity Red Blend. A big bodacious red wine blend from the famous Monte Rosso Vineyard in Sonoma Valley, California. Get ready for delicousness!

Wine: Monte Rosso was first planted in 1886 and is known for producing award winning wines made from Zinfandel, Semillon and Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2016 Gravity is a blend of Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache.

Region: California

Grapes: Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache

Price: $37.99

Taste: Elizabeth, this is a big one!  I highly recommend decanting this wine. The wine is condensed with notes of Maraschino black cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate, coffee, toasted oak, and caramel. This is a wine to enjoy on a quiet night by the fireplace.

Pairs with: red meats; ribeye, Kansas strip, short ribs.

FYI: This wine was brought to my attention when I started to follow Brenae Royal on Instagram. Brenae is a force, she is African American, in her twenties and is the vineyard manager for Monte Rosso Vineyard.
